MCAHV T-Shirt Design Contest - $1000 Prize!
Deadline extended to May 16, 2008.

Contest Objective

Tragically, we have seen repeated gun violence in schools across America over the past years, from student suicides to murders on campus. The freedom to attend school no matter who you are is a bedrock of democracy, and the safety of students is being challenged by the availability of guns to people who lack the responsibility to use them.

College and university students can get involved in change. Involvement can come through joining and supporting the student branch of Maine Citizens Against Handgun Violence; through participating in events that raise public awareness of the issue; through participating in legislation at the state and national level; and through the unique medium of designing an attractive t-shirt that will be displayed by hundreds and that will carry its message into any number of venues for many years into the future.

Contestants should read the rules carefully.

Contest Rules

1. The design will be judged on the basis of how effectively it communicates the connection between gun violence on school campuses and inadequately regulated sale of guns. Aesthetic design (including color), humor, legibility and immediacy of impact will be considered among other factors.

2. The decision of MCAHV may be arbitrary but will be final.

3. MCAHV will be granted the exclusive world-wide right to reproduce and market the design, in any form and format, for a period of ten (10) years from award of the prize to the entrant.

4. Students currently enrolled in an accredited two or four year college or university in Maine are eligible to participate.

5. Entrants will be deemed to warrant that the submitted design is their original work product and does not infringe the rights of any third party.

6. Designs should be submitted on-line in PDF or EPS format to info@mcahv.org prior to May 16, 2008.

For questions or further information please write info@mcahv.org or call 780-0501.
